I went to the Barry Sheene festival at Scarborough yesterday. They had his championship winning bikes on show. They also rode them on a parade lap. Phil Read, Mick Grant and Steve Parrish rode the bikes. The photos are on the phone ( using the iPad at the mo)
I read that article - there was also a good article linked to it from Matt Oxley a few years before. It's mind-boggling how amateurish it all was - can you imagine Marquez knocking off after winning with three rounds to spare? Then there's all the mechanical stuff - wrong triple clamps, wrong gearbox, misrouted choke cables. It's amazing he ever won anything... Mike
