I’ve covered about 400 miles now on the SL and have to say I’m loving it. Throttle is a little more stiff than my new SS so makes my hand ache (which is easing) The bike is light, not massively powerful which is no bad thing, brakes are good, it’s really flickable. Gets lots of looks and sounds great. Should’ve bought one years ago.
"Flickable" & "light". The two words I now place above all others when considering another bike purchase. Good for you @Vader. I just bought a one that fits that description myself. Making a 6 hour -return- trip to pick it up on Monday. It needs a whole lot of TLC and so could turn out to be a mistake, though a project might be just what the doctor ordered. Plus it will be warm enough to spray soon. LOL.
I haven’t looked, don’t think Lady Vader will be too impressed if I start shelling out money on it, she’s not overly happy I bought it. Oh well
Lets see if I close the deal first. I bloody hope so though, driving all that way and coming home empty handed would be a drag! Its a little 140kgs runabout, Nothing special at all, but should be a lot of fun -once fixed and upgraded. Pics on Tuesday.
@Vader I have one off my 900ie as I upgraded it to a Nitron. If you decide you want one make me an offer and I'll send it to you.
My first Ducati was a ‘93 red 900ss which set me on the trail of Ducati ownership. After 3 monsters and a Multistrada I’ve gone full circle and back with a ‘97 red 900ss Glad to hear you’re enjoying yours Vader.
This has definitely been covered before.... Jaundice, custard, pus, banana skins, piss when dehydrated, cowardice, those poisonous frogs, snot and lemons.. Passion, romance, strength and strawberries, Ferraris, courage, sexual energy and little red dresses.. But I do believe in freedom of choice..so everyone is free to choose....
Well, due to my wonderful YELLOW SL my mate has bought a 900 SS today. A 93 model with just over 10,000 miles. The shop will carry out a complete service including belts and replace the brand new (10 years old) tyres at cost. He will have it delivered next week. From the photos and video he sent me it looks a stunner. The bike is red as this is the common colour
Yeah, the old 'uns may not be 'better' performers but they certainly provide a much more rewarding all encompassing visceral experience. Enjoy
