Surplus to requirements, I have a full race system for sale including silencer. This is the "banana" system and has come of my 749 track bike. Generally, in good condition, see pics. £1000, plus postage.
Probably only 749/999 with deep sump and black swing arm if it came off a 749R. Actually, it doesn't say...I made an assumption there.
Banana systems are for black swing arm I think so you are correct (I think) - there should be jiggery pokey eliectrickery magic bit with it though?
I do have the correct ECU for it but using that for another project. It's very straightforward to program any stock ECU with the correct map. Speak to Cornerspeed in Nottingham, authorised Ducati Service centre, for example.
But wouldn't you be better selling the correct ecu with it that came with it as a kit then doing what you need for your different exhaust / project
Yes, in an ideal world, you're quite right. I didn't think this was going to be surplus, but things don't always go to plan on a hybrid project! To be honest, to get it setup perfectly, you're best off with a power commander and a dyno session, which then obviates the needs for the special ECU. I had the kit ECU and still used a power commander to get it perfect. It does make a substantial difference to smooth fueling.
Ex Excuse my ignorance, is there anything special about the banana system ? Are they rare or the one to have etc ? Thanks in advance
Round system fits grey swing arm, banana system is squashed to clear the black swing arm (I think this is the only reason)
Round system is the old type which is very tight around the swingarm and side fairing, later banana system has more clearance.
Just a question out of curiosity. Was this system on a 749R or 749 / 749S? R being deep sump, Base and S shallow sump.
So are there two systems for the black swing arm models, deep and shallow sump? If so is it just the link pipe that's different?
