Morning, I have just purchased my first ducati, nice little 600 ss. It is a lovley bike. I am planning on striping it down, and refurbishing all the brackets, frame etc. I run my own powder coating plant which makes things easier. Just got a few questions, where can I get original stickers for the fuel tank and I have to do a little bit of welding to it, so going to respray it. I am after original not micky mouse copies. Also does anyone know the colour code or ral/bs reference for the frame colour and wheels? Rob
This might help with the paint.......I guess it's the top one of each table... Tpog60, Just type Frame colour in the search facility and you should find something. RS paints springs to mind & http://www.ebay.co.uk/usr/bikepaintermal http://www.ebay.co.uk/usr/ducati_bike_paints http://www.autopaint-pro.co.uk/ducati-motorcycle-paint-91-c.asp Where did you get go for your decals. Cheers Gaz
Thanks for the reply guys. I have some golds in stock, I will try putting a Matt lacquer over them to get a match. The stickers I managed to get from the uk expect for the ducati on the on the side of the tank which I got from Germany. All NOS. I will post some pics of the finished tank, priming it today then wet flat 800 on Monday,
Does anyone have a exploded diagram of the carbs, I put them in my ultrasonic cleaner, completely stripped but at the bottom of the tank where two tiny I rings and one spring.
they will be from your mixture screws, the springs and the o rings, there should be two washers to go with them. As for diagram, I think there's one on Allens performance web site, they sell all the carb parts too.
Same as this more or less.......and while you are at it, make a note of the main jet size and the needle reference............in fact take a photo of the needle and the big spring........that way we can see if it has been Dynojetted.
Thanks guys. The little spring was from where the throttle pushed the other one if that makes sense. I didn't remove the mixture screws as some one has been in there before and messed the heads up also the little bracket between the jets has been soldered on one of them. The rubber o rings are tiny little things but proper fat.
Allens Performance can normally supply most stuff...............but I have a few spare parts (used) for these carbs if you get stuck............ AL
Did you take the diaphragm covers off --- the black square things with a raised round area and four screws each? --- on the left in your photo......because they could have come from there. The jets are inside the float bowls....
