Im just about to purchase a pair of showa forks for my 600ss to replace my marzocchi ones as one leg is past it. Are they a straight swap? Silly question I expect.
Depends one which Showas..............If they are the earlier fully adjustable ones from the carbed SS..........Yep, straight swap.... But as far as I am aware, some of the later Showas (from the IEs) had wider spaced brake caliper mounting holes.....Not so straight a swap. AL
Al is right the calipers mounts are different, the carbys are 50mm and the ie's are 68mm I think. I bought newer calipers for mine to do a twin disc conversion so found this out the hard way!!
