Hi My 600SS has been undergoing a cosmetic restoration over the winter and now that I am nearing the end I have just put the battery back in and gone to switch her on and cannot get the ignition switch to turn (and yes I am using the correct key). I can't get it to move from 'OFF'. I have sprayed the switch with WD40 but after a few hours I still cannot get it to budge. Any ideas what might be gong on and how to fix it?
Have you tried turning the key around before you stick it in? Mine can do the same thing as yours and the key works better in one way than the other.........and when in the other way, I have to waggle it about a bit.
Problem solved now after more release spray and a bit of fiddling around it finally released; so all OK now.....thank goodness.
