696 to 796 - less cramped?

  1. Has anyone made the move from a M696 to a M796 and if so did you feel less cramped? For example is there a longer seat to peg distance resulting in your leg being bent at a less acute angle.

  2. Same bike innit?

  3. I rode them both for about 30 mins each, one after the other when the trouble was looking for a bike. The 796 is a little taller so not as cramped.

  4. great tool thaks for that :upyeah:

  6. Welcome back BB, but you could have answered the question as this was aimed at YOU! Well the old (2009) 696 has just returned from a bimble from Caen down to Biarritz / Bordeaux, 3 days in the Pyrenees, then 3 days touring Northern Spain and it didn't miss a beat. Whilst I had to go for the odd leg stretch whilst riding others in our group of 7 on huge BMW touring bikes, Multistradas and a Diavel also did the same. However I could do with a little more seat to peg distance so my legs aren't bent double like hair grips. If there was a significant difference from the 696 to the 796 I'd make the change but if there isn't and bearing in mind that the bikes are pretty much the same then I won't bother and will save my pennies for a Hyperstrada. I suppose I could always go and sit on one!
