  1. hi guys

rite i did have a 2002 S4 monster, my mate destroyed it! i know have a 2002 748, unknown model but has 3 spoke wheels, dual seat, i think its a base model, but it has only done 5000 miles and only cost 2700! am a happy bunny lol
been stood for 5 years and needs full rebuild, yellow bodywork is mint but frame, engine n fasteners lookin a bit tatty, gonna strip n paint frame n wheels black, stainless fasteners, usual stuff.....

    my questions are so far......
will the 5 spoke marchisini wheel from S4 fit into 748?
if not are the brake discs interchangeable?
does anyone want a marchisini rear wheel for an S4?
has anyone got a marchisini rear wheal for a 748?
how do i tell which model i have?
will my 996 oil cooler fit the 748?

thanks if your still reading and havnt got bored, basically im gonna swap as many bits off my monster onto the 748 as i can! any comments, tips, advice, help is always greatly recieved, cheers for the mo, marty

  2. my questions are so far......
will the 5 spoke marchisini wheel from S4 fit into 748? Front wheel yes.
if not are the brake discs interchangeable? Yes
how do i tell which model i have? Is it a Biposto? Does it have the adjustable headstock (2 mounting points for steering damper), Dzus or screws for fairing?
will my 996 oil cooler fit the 748? If it's from a 996 yes but you will need the diverter plate.

  3. thanks dukedesmo, front wheel swap then, yes its biposto (pillion seat?) fixed headstock and (rusty) screws for fairing
    what/where is diverter plate
    many thanks

  4. Then it is a base or 748E model, made at a lower price by eliminating a few things - adjustable headstock, Dzus fasteners, dropped exhaust valve heads (as per Monster S4 & ST4) probably Sachs shock rather than Showa.

The oil diverter plate fits above the oil filter, under the bolt that holds the filter in and 'diverts' the oil through the cooler lines.

  5. +1 DD, but why would you want to fit an oil cooler to a base 748? It will most probably run too cold, and just take more oil each time you change it. I know the SPS/R etc had one, but they run hotter.

  6. thanks guys, stuff to do over the weekend, may hold off on oilcooler for now,
748 only came with 1 key, fuelcap etc will swap, any ideas on dealing with immobiliser on S4 and alarm/immobiliser on 748, tbh im not bothered if alarm or immobisiler works, just wanna swap so i got spare keys lol my S4 has all 3 incl red one

  7. The S4 runs a different ecu to the 748, so the coded key part of the monster is irrelevant on the 748.

  8. have a rear 5 spoke marchesini for sale

its in great nick but it is white so you will prob want to powder coat it to match your front, pm me if interested,

just get another key cut for the 748, don't think there is any immobiliser gubbins in there (but i could be wrong)

if you still have the s4 clocks, ecu, ignition barrel, seat latch and petrol cap + the 3 keys and code card, stick them on ebay you should get a few hundred quid for them

  9. cool, thanks
how much you want for wheel? :)
dont think the alarm is a ducati item??? so ill get spare key cut and be selling locks from S4, dont have speedo, changed to digital dash (which got obliterated lol)
