Call me rough but this is an easy and safe way to remove a swingarm without dropping your motor Simple adapted turnbuckle, rubber pads to protect to protect the frame, open up about 8 mm to allow the swingarm bushes spacers to clear the frame lug mounts
That the piece of precision engineering which requires a lump hammer and 3 hours to remove the swing arm pivot bolt!!
Even if you had to persuade the pivot bolt out, no need to spread the bottom tails of the frame to remove the arm bit lazy really. great excuse to put a 1198 swing arm in with 999 pivots it would drop out on its own then
I've never removed the swingarm from mine although I have removed the engine and the pivot/bolt pushed out really easily. But surely you could just 'pivot' the engine on one bolt to get it out of the way if you wanted the swingarm out without (completely) removing the engine?
You can but I believe it still requires removal of the throttle bodies etc No doubt someone with an opinion will correct me!
Hi If I do this frame "opening" method ... I need to remove TB-s , what else? And then do frame opening (is that bad for frame)? And engine bolts must be loose? Subframe removed. Anything else? Thanks
