748 Footpeg vibrations

  1. Hi all,

Recently fitted some GBMoto rear sets to my 748 in an attempt to make my feet more comfortable which has half worked but I am still feeling a lot of vibration through the footpegs (I'm sure it was there before the rear sets but I am just noticing it more now as Im looking for it).

After speaking to a few people I have tightened my engine frame bolts up to torque as they were a little loose, which has moved the vibrations to lower RPMs (i.e. from around 2-5,000, whereas it used to be more around 5,000 odd).

The throttle bodies are in balance and the engine runs pretty well.

Is this normal for the 748 (without a balanced crankshaft etc)?

If so, fine, but how do you guys deal with it? I currently wear A* SMX+ boots which are awesome but the sole is very thin on them so I feel every little thing. I tried another insole on top of the A* one but it was worse as it made it tight against my toes then. I was thinking of replacing the A* insole altogether with a vibration absorbing one (gel?) - do you reckon this would work and can anyone offer any advice on which may work better?

    Cheers! :up yeah:

By the way, please don't advise buying daytona's or something as I just don't have the money - I would rather try a lower cost alternative first! Oh, and I have tried wearing 2 pairs of socks too which didn't help.

  2. If you'd have posted this a day later I would have said you were winding us all up SB! I hope someone happens along soon with a more useful footwear solution post.

  3. Sadly not Chris!
