Hi all out there have just bought a 1995 748 that has been off the road for the past 3 years, the engine is painted a grey colour which is flaking badly. So can anybody help with the best place for a good quality paint in a aerosol, I have been told there are two greys that where used a light and a dark grey is this right? I can find no paint code for the engine with the documentation that came with the bike so can you help please.
For my multistrada I took a sliver of paint to RS Bike Paints and they made a paint to match. Not exactly cheap, though.
I too havs an 748SPS with the Grey\Green casing covers. Do you mean you want paint for the main part of the engine or the casings? The casing paint isn't available other than by special colour match but the silver could easily be found. I repainted my 78R engine (different bike!) with alloy steel wheel paint and the shade was quite similar. A paint factor with a spectrum analyser could match the colour you want exactly for you and put it in a can if you wanted to go that route.
