748 race settings?

  1. Hi, this question has probably been asked somewhere before but I’m going to ask it anyway.

I’m after some of your thought on suspension settings for track ridding manly ride height and if the “race” setting in the head stock should be used or not with the standard swing arm?

I don’t have the Ducati ride height tool, but I’m guessing that the measurements could be taken from a point on the sub frame to the axle, right?

I’m after as many opinions on this as possible as I would like to play with this and see what works for me.

  2. I believe the race setting is for use with the lengthened swinging arm, although a Ducati manual that I read recently seems to suggest you can do it without!

  3. Thanks cranker, ill give those figures a try.
Do you use the “race “ position in the head stock with those setting?

On another note I read somewhere that the 848, 1098 etc swingarm can be fitted to the 748 frame to gain the corsa style longer swingarm. Can someone clarify what is needed for this conversion and where if any i can get custom parts from?

  4. Lookie here, Fitting a 848/1198 swingarm on a 748/996 series bike (another version) - Ducati.ms - The Ultimate Ducati Forum

IIRC there was a chap making or prototyping a rocker.

  5. No I have stuck with the head stock in road position. It turn in well using the Section8 settings. I will only change to race position once I put my corse swingarm on.
