748 Rear brake return spring

  1. Hi there I am new to the forum and this is my first plea for help for my restoration of a 1995 Ducati 748 that has been off the road for several years. I was checking the parts manual and I noticed there was a coiled return spring fitted to the rear brake lever, on looking on my bike it seems there is not one fitted, the lever returns when operated and the brake works fine I can only assume the lever returns by the spring inside the master cylinder. The lever shows no sign of marks where the spring would fit and the job I had to remove the lever makes me think it has not been removed before for the spring not to be put back. Anybody got any ideas on this subject. Thanks Dave.

  2. IMG_0579.JPG Dave, this is how it fits on the later 748s FWIW, yours is slightly different IIRC.

  4. I did wonder.... Mine has no spring also....Has it been left off at some point?

  5. I can't see any way one could fit on mine without some different fittings.
