I've just brought my 748 and it needs a service, which would be easier if I had a rear stand. Whats the best stand to buy and from where? Is the original Ducati part and better than the after market ones?
Well I use an abba stand that uses the engine/frame point and raises the rear wheel. To me a lot easier to operate by one person.
i've never had any probs with the cheaper ones TBH. Check the pivot has a bearing and not the solid welded type.
Gubellini or DP (which are Gubellini rebranded) are one of the best, very strong and easy to get the bike onto. I have had a couple of cheap stands collapse and bend, but mine get used a lot.
