748 Remove Speedo From Housing How ?

I need to remove the speedo from its housing and to do so I need to remove the trip reset knob. I tried twisting it clockwise and pulling at the same time but it wont budge . I don't want to put any more pressure on it for fear of breaking it . Does any one know how it is done ?
