Hello I have a different 748 now , that has a very odd quirk - I am baffled - but most of the time when I set off the bike is running fine (having started ok with no issues) but then normally about a mile in the bike starts to cough and sputter - It probably lasts a about a minute or 2 then picks up - and from then on the bike is fine - ? any ideas are greatly appreciated - it is the 2000 model with termogninis and a power commander - 4500 miles. (I have checked other threads but not seen anything like this ok) many thanks rich
If the same thing is happening consistently, then possibly air temperature sensor related. The way the connector is situated it has a habit of retaining water and connector terminals can become corroded particularly if the rubber boot is perished.
