HI, thanks for letting me join. looking for some help please after owning 748sp (always regretted selling) then 749, then 748e back in the day , after a long ducati break bikes that is , managed to pick up a 748B 96, project bike, but just could not get one with the 5 spoke marchesini wheels that i really wanted , so if any one has some for sale or i have seen some 748's with 848 wheels on is this an easy swop ? appreciate any help cheers martin
Welcome and, with regards to the 848 wheels I think the rear should fit but the front will not, at least not without major work. For starters the 848 wheel has no speedo drive setup so you'd lose your mechanical speedo and then the brake discs are different; 748 uses 10mm offset, 6 hole carriers whilst 848 uses 15mm offset, 5 hole carriers and whilst you can get 15mm offset, 6 hole discs I don't think 10mm offset, 5 hole discs are available, though you could maybe get some made up? You can, or at least could, get 10-spoke Marchesini wheels for your 748 (I've got them on my 916) but they're expensive and maybe NLA?

thanks dave did see them , messaged the seller there just a set of cast monster wheels and the gold is a bit of a Barbie doll car gold way to blingy and as i have been looking around now ,these ones are very pricey ! can get magnesium ones from japan for £1000, what do you think would the monster ones be as heavy as the 3 spoke ? thanks dave for the help
