Hi guys, As the stray belt pulley shredded my old belt covers, I replaced them with a set of early Desmo covers. Now, when I fitted them when the engine came back, these covers sat flush against the engine casing; whereas the originals sat proud of the casing. Now, my question is, are the R belt covers different depths to other model bikes? There’s no sign of the covers being any where near the pulleys or belts now and all OE replacement parts were used on the engine rebuild. As it’s causing no issues, I’m not overly fussed but obviously the gap in the covers is a characteristic of the R’s. Cheers!
Yep the belt covers are different. I think you can get them for about 30 and you shouldbe able to ebay yours and get 20
