Afternoon All, Just about to put some new tyres on ready for the spring but upon taking the wheel out the thread felt horrible. After taking the spindle out I’ve noticed it has been badly cross threaded and damaged, I recon with a windy gun. Does anyone have a spindle kicking about? Also, if anyone knows the difference between the dark spindle and the rest, could they enlighten me? Also another big thumbs up for exige, uprated cables work a treat! Thanks Aaron
The front wheel axle is the same for all 749/999 variants. It's used on some other models too. Part nr. 81910431A
I thought the same but alas! There are two different part numbers, I’m guessing the B is for the dark......

Ring Craig or Luke at Moto Rapido and they will tell you the right part and send it to you for tomorrow morning, my guess is the B version is just an updated part that will fit the 749 where there are other Ducatis that need the original part hence it not being discontinued - which is usually what happens when there is a part number variation. Make sure you get a new nut as well
