749 rear brake pedal

  1. Hi guys/girls, hope your all well? Does anybody know if you can alter the height of the rear brake lever on a '05 749 as the standard position is next to useless!
Any help would be good ta!!

  2. the pedal rubber mounted on the lever will slide up and down an amount as it sits in a slot bolted on the inside, but you could also extend the actuating rod in or out of the master cylinder which wil move it a little too.....

  3. Have already moved the rubber, will try extending the actuating rod...cheers!

  4. Don't over do it, leave some play in the rod otherwise you might have the brake stick on when it gets hot.

  5. Thanks Steve, will bear that in mind.

  6. Is your problem the fact the lever is in the wrong place or that the brake is crap?

I have to try and deliberately ride without pressing the thing so I have the opposite problem if it is position.

My rear brake was rubbish before I rebuilt it.

  7. Hello jc749, the brake seems to work fine my problem is getting to the lever as it is to far down! unless it is just me and i need to get used to it!

  8. Go and find another 749 or 916 and compare the lever positions - then you'll know if yours is weird. Hard to say from here.

  9. Sounds like you just need to adjust its position. 5 mins with a spanner and a bit of test riding if it ever stops raining!

  10. Cheers guys!
