749r Engine Deal

Discussion in 'Technical Help' started by Duncs, Oct 27, 2017.

  1. Hi
I've just been offered a 749R engine for £650 and I am tempted, can anyone give me some advice as to whether this a good deal what bits are titanium etc. I'm at classic bike live in Peterborough and the engine is nearby. So might be able to get the deal done this weekend.

  2. Well I was told just the cylinder heads + gubbins would be £750.

  3. Buy it if it's correct :)

  4. I got his number so deal is still on. Has the 749r got magnesium cam covers? And can I verify with engine number?

  5. It's advertised on ebay I'll try and post the ad. Guy said it had done 10000 miles

  6. They didn't have them did they? Some might have but a google images search shows not.
We're the engine numbers different to standard?
    Tread with care :)

That looks a bit like it has neither.

  9. I think Airduck and Sev are right looks like it has neither and I would put a pic of the 749R stamp in the ad
