  4. I agree - huge amount of bike for the money at the moment - £6-7k??

  5. I've just sold what must be the best in europe, ie sub 1000 miles, showroom condition, I'd like another in 6 months or so, I've seen the rough ones that pop up like the ones from bikers-enders on ebay and was wondering where they'll be in the next year or so.

  6. or the worst………..1000 miles in nearly ten years……..still not as rare as a 749RS….

  7. The worst!? Granted not as rare as a 749rs, the topic wasn't about an rs. Actually was there a proper 749rs?

  8. Agree they are awesome bikes for the money. Mine has about 4k on the clock at the moment but hasn't been used for almost a year. I'll be getting it back on the road next summer but am torn between actually riding it and polishing/staring at it. I don't think they will make enough money to justify preserving one so I'm planing to use it for what it was built for... Once the salt disappeared and the sun comes back out.

As more and more bikes clock up mileage a mint museum piece will naturally go upon value, and I've seen a 999r on ebay for silly money, but I think a sensible ridden 749r shouldn't lose too much in the next couple of years

  9. it was a little tongue in cheek about the RS bit:wink:…….my thought behind the worse bit was because the wheels gearbox engine belts bearings chain tyres yada yada all havnt done a lot except sat there for 10 years……….. or moved 100 miles every year thats less than 10 miles a month….

  10. to be honest I wouldn't have sold it if I didn't need the cash to plow into some projects, it was short sighted of me buying it really. I had no shortage of interest at the asking price though. it did a nice 500 miles with zero issues, G-tech did a proper job on the service though.

I did think about buying one of the scabby ones that pop up but you don't know how much they'll cost to put right.
