    I am sure many of us have family who fought and died in the last war. This link tells the story (quite a short read) of a schoolteacher from a small mining village in Derbyshire He was My fathers Cousin. People like him made up the majority of the few

  4. from a family of plumbers,my fathers uncle left our plumbing business and joined the navy on outbreak of ww2, he was a plumber on hms hood when sunk by the bismark....rip Robert.
     
  5. This was on TV the other night, WW1 but a fascinating story about the high scoring aces McCudden and Mannock, two working class heroes.
