750 Ss Help

  1. Trying to take the rear sprocket carrier off my 1992 750 and two of the little rubber crush drives are stuck solid I'm thinking of putting it in the big oven at work, I've looked at buying replacements but can't find any. I've yet to go to Gt motorcycles in Plymouth just seeing if I can get them somewhere else first.

  2. The rubber will be stuck - they are steel caged and bushed inserts in the wheel.

The sprocket carrier has six pins which are push fit in the bushes........if you mean the pins are seized in the bushes, look at the disc side of the wheel and into the hub...........you can see the other ends of the pins through the holes in the hub........stick a long bar in there and try gently tapping them out.........each one a bit at a time......Keep the wheel upright otherwise the carrier will be againts the floor.........lay a big cushion of rags down so nothing gets damaged when the carrier falls out.

  3. Yep done all that also turned the bolts from the other side, the two in question turn but snap back with the rubber bushing. Soaked them with penetrating fluid for two days. Just would like to know if they are readily available before I apply the fire and brimstone.
    Thanks Arquebus.

  4. They are, but can be expensive.............shop around and get prices.

  5. And welcome Dave
