800 SS VS 1000 DS in Cagiva Elefant

  1. I made a major rebuild of my Cagiva Elefant some years ago, and now i am ready for more rebuild.
I put a 800 SS engine in the Elefant, complete with injection, ECU and panel, since these things are matched together.
among a lot of things i want a bigger engine, the 1000 DS from the Multistrada. I really love this engine, but have a few concerns. The clutch...i really dont like the noise from the dry clutch, can anything be done to get rid of the noise?

My 800 SS, from a 2005 Monster runs a lot smoother than the 1000 DS, below 3000 rpm. It might not bother you street bikers, but for serious offroad, this could really be a bif step in the wrong direction. Can anything be done, to make it run smoother? Or is is because of the bigger engine, and maybe the dry clutch?
off course it might be that mine has a better setup than the Multistrada i rode, i have only tried one off each.

    regards from Denmark

  2. go for the 1100 version wet plate clutch
