I felt the bike needed one so did some research and settled for this one: There's a couple videos of people fitting them to other bikes on Youtube but nothing on the 821/939. So for anyone looking at this idea, it was actually pretty straight forward as it's plug and play (almost). I'm no electrician so wanted something which was relatively user friendly for the DIY noob. Here's my how to: Indicator arrives with all parts required as follows [Indicator with cabling, sticky pads x2, cable ties, Scottish lock electrical clip, user manual; I started by measuring up where I was going to fit, decided the best, most OE look was to pass the wiring under the speedo and through the headlight / unit and follow the loom from there. Start by fitting your sticky pads onto the indicator and mount next to speedo; Stick it here; Remove these two (5mm allen's) under the mud guard; The whole front end (mudguard and headlight) will now lift out the two lugs and pull forward giving you more access; Remove the 3mm Allens to remove the front fairing. Then the 2xT29 hex's holding the headlight in. Again the headlight lifts up and out of 2 lugs. Remove the front screen (4x allen's). You will now have access to the 3x allens which hold the speedo in place. Remove these and move the speedo unit up enough to feed the gear indicator cable down: Now feed the cabling through towards the headstock: Now you can wire this through without lifting the tank, BUT lifting the tank makes life a lot easier. This is pretty self explanatory and once you've removed the side fairings and bolts holding the tank in place, you can lift the tank up. To hold it in place I placed a wooden block carefully in between the airbox and tank to give me a nice amount of room to play with; Feed the cabling for the indicator along the loom as follows; Route it through to alongside the ECU. Now you can plug into the bike's DDA/OBD port as follows: Now for the fun bit, a bit of wiring. Trust me, if I can do this you can. Locate this small fuse box and remove the single T29 hex. Lift the fuse box up slightly and find the wire which is RED & BLACK: Cut back some of the insulation tape allowing enough room to fit the Scottish connector. Cut your power cable from the gear indicator down to size as it's heaps too long. Attach the Scottish connector to the Black & Red wire and then feed the small power cable for the indicator into the other slot on the the Scottish connector. When you're happy the two cables are sitting comfortably, crimp it all together with some pliers and presto. End result will look something like this: [If you're not familiar with these Scottish connectors, there's plenty videos on youtube showing you how]. You now have power which switches the indicator on and off with the ignition: Refit everything you've taken off Now you need to map it all. Follow the user manual for this but pretty straight forward (again Youtube is your friend): I'm well chuffed and looks nice and tidy
