So, I've replaced the rear speedo sensor with a new one on my 848, and no luck... still getting speedo 36 error, after clearing the codes. Next, I replaced the entire loom with another 848 wiring harness. Again, everything else works, but still a speedo error -- simply reads zero. I've removed the thin shim from the sensor, cleaned off the brake rotor buttons already. Next steps -- dash?? ECU?? The replacement harness wasn't too expensive, and it only took me a few hours to swap the old one out for this one. Any ideas would be appreciated! Bike runs great otherwise.
If you can borrow an ECU from an 848 you will be able to test if the fault is with the ECU. The ECU will be plug and play. Your post does not identify if the bike is an 848 EVO, if so you would need an ECU from an 848 EVO.
