Hi all. I'm in need of help. I have a 848 with a cutting out problem. The bike runs fine but when the temperature starts getting between 95 and 105 degrees the bike is stalling almost like it'd not getting fuel. I have put the bike into a ducati repair centre but then can't find a problem. Has anyone els had this issue?.
Check CPS sensor, as the bike heats up it expands and turned out my sensor was literally touching the teeth when warm and suddenly shutting off from reading an incorrect voltage. It's supposed to be properly gappee I believe at 0.7-0.9mm though best checking the manual. The sensor can be spaced (£3 from ducati) and checked with a feeler gauge to determine the gap. There is a bolt that looks like a coolant drain off I believe that comes out for you to check the sensor gap through the engine as opposed to taking the full case off the side of the bike. Worth a shot and hope this helps.
Was the coils in the end, also found the connector from the VR was staring to melt so was also changed. New plugs also fitted and and a tweek to the fuelling and running lovely again
