848 ECU Re-Flash

Discussion in '848 / 1098 / 1198' started by Sean848, Aug 2, 2013.

  1. I have a query regarding ECU re-flashing on a 848evo, I see that certain company's offer a turnaround service where the ECU can be sent stand alone to them and re-flashed and sent back however I am not 100% sure as to what is actually entailed in a re-flash. The bike has a PCV just now and will shortly have a autotune fitted so I gues that will sort fueling?

I understand that the rev limit is increased, ignition timing advanced, but also fueling can be adjusted. And probably a load of other variables. I guese these send away companies just insert a base map is you like when only the ecu is sent away. Basically my main question is, is it more viable to put bike on dynometer and have ecu re-configured that way along with pcv? Just thinking out loud but any help would be appreciated.

    Cheers:upyeah:

  2. Don't know about the question you ask, but ChrisW recently re-flashed mine after I fitted a set of Termi's... Seems to work fine, although I still need to take it out for a spin...

  3. There are two correct answers to this question.

    1. Custom reflash via CJS/Louigi Moto - Bike required as its done on a dyno (PCV no longer required)
    2. PCv setup- via an number of reputable dyno tuners.

Return of post reflash - waste of time & money.

  4. Thought as much,

    Cheers

  5. Nothing will ever beat a custom tune

If you fit Termis etc then the DP map is a good starting point

I have the DP ECU on one bike and it runs great. I also have a stock ECU and PC111 (with custom map) on my other bike and that runs great.

  6. Yep agree with the above about sending the ecu away and return, my thoguhts and what i did to my S2R 1000 after fitting a full Arrows system I then took it to BSD Performance and had the ECU re-mapped and full dyno tune. The result was amazing and I was really happy, it now pushes out 94bhp at the rear wheel. Not cheap but for me its the best solution to have everything running smooth in all gears in all rev ranges.
