Hi all I am looking at buying an 848 Evo and one option is to do this through my business as 'plant and machinery'. As part of the riding of the bike would be for business and part for pleasure, I would pay tax on it as a benefit (similar to having a company car) for the pleasure part of it. To estimate the cost of this I need to get the emissions figure for the bike......which I cant find anywhere! Even a local dealer didn't know but I guess the figure is on the V5 document? Would someone be able to have a quick look at their V5 and let me know the emissions figure in g/km please? Many thanks Alistair
Hi Alistair, Not sure on the tax side of this, but I can tell you that the Carbon Trust state an average for motorcycles over 500cc as 130g/km. Hope this helps. Dave.
It's not a requirement for the bikes yet to list specific volumes. There's a compliance with Euro emmissions standards though. The EVO complies with Euro 3 i think. The newer bikes are complying with Euro 4 but i don't think the 848 is up to that one.
Thanks for the responses. Ive just discussed it with my accountant and it looks like we're sorted. Alistair
My V5 lists it as follows (848 Evo): - CO (g/km or g/kWh) 0.743 HC (g/km or g/kWh) 0.179 NOx (g/km or g/kWh) 0.051
I have a similar option to you about how I purchase mine. I decided (or thought I had) to just buy it myself. I couldn't find out the emissions either so sort of just left it at that. I don't want to know figures, but did it work out much better off to have it as a company vehicle? (Just a yes / no question as it's none of my business what it's costing etc.) All I'm wondering is if it's worth doing or not. I thought I'd made my mind up but I have time to do either option still.
