here are spec comparisons between evo and base; https://www.ultimatespecs.com/motorcycles-specs/ducati/ducati-superbike-848-evo-2012 https://www.ultimatespecs.com/motorcycles-specs/ducati/ducati-superbike-848-2009 +6 bhp, +2Nm - may be worth lookign into other options if you are after decent gains (unless you happen to have a newer evo engine just knocking about). I lay no claim to the accuracy of the linked numbers, etc.
Don't think he is looking for gains, just an engine to go into his bike. https://www.ducatiforum.co.uk/threads/848-engine-wanted.62713/ Steve
ah, makes sense now. not knowledgeable enough to contribute beyond that, but good luck in getting the motor in and the bike up and running.
Yes my 848 engine went bang so looking for options. A 2012 evo engine came up locally hence the question. If it has a few more horses great but not the decider
The throttle bodies are different - bigger. The ecu will be different - yours can be reflashed to suit.
Why does the ECU need changing, or clocks, with a simple engine swap? TBs sound like they may need a bit more effort.
The evo TBs are bigger (same as 1098) yup, could use original TB's and rubbers,or maybe engine seller has evo TB's? ECU is programmed different, not just fueling, pin out is different (starter circuit IIRC).
you could even put a 1098 or 1198 engine in there ....let alone a whatever 848 motor... as long as its alongside original loom original dash original ecu original tbs with a dyno set up .
