  1. Have noticed that my bike seems to burn a bit of oil. Phoned Ducati Aylesbury who said this is normal. Does anyone else have this happen with their bike? Never had this with Jap il4's... Not a major issue and will top it up tomorrow...

  2. I never noticed my 848 burn oil. Is the bike new? Of so could just be because its being run in.

  3. My 60 plate hasnt burned a drop between services so far. Just using Shell as the book recommends.

  4. It's not new, although it only had 1500 miles when I got it in June. I've done 1800 miles on it since so it's at around 3300... I don't think it's anything major, and in the past would change the oil every 2000 miles anyway...

  5. Nope can't say my none evo's burnt any either.

  6. No here too, put 8k on my evo so far and doesn't lose any as far as I can tell.

  7. A blade is known to use a litre of oil every 1000 miles, sometimes less, so no biggie. Altho my 848 didnt, none of my bikes ever have incl a 1000rr blade, but I ride like I stole it all the time and reckon thats why

  8. No particularly 848 but a few people have mentioned when Useing Silkoline oil there bike used oil when it hadn't with other brands.

  9. I bought my 848 with 250 miles on the clock. Another, none whatsoever, mileage now at 7700ish. I check my level all the time because the 748 I had before, did use oil.

  10. Ah! A case of RTFM!!... Checked it this morning and its fine... Was checking when the engine was warm before. The manual says to check when it's cold...

  11. Sent off to join its friends in Superbike land
