Hi guys don't all start flaming at me as I prob sound stupid but on some 848/1098 you can see the pressure plate which looks smart better then my grey cover but is this coz mine is wet and the others are dry? Don't you I prob will sound stupid lol If so can I change to dry? Any difference?
It will cost a few hundred quid... Won't improve performance... I toyed with the idea, but instead used my pennies to fit a wet sigma slipper... Each to their own, I missed the rattle of a dry clutch for a while, but don't think about it now...
Not sure. You can convert to dry, but makes sense to go for a dry slipper, but only if you like the look and the annoying rattle. Makes more sense (to me) to add a wet slipper, if it;s a slipper you're after. Sigma is very good or I have seen a Ducabike unit on ebay recently.
PM @abmatt2002 There are pros and cons to the dry clutch. Biggest con is the fact they are noisey as you like, last about 10mins and spray dust all over the right side of the bike. You do look ace though If it were my 848, i'd leave it as @comesunt said, its not worth it
Yer my 848 was abmatt will ask him but thinking it's not worth the hassle unless I get some money to waste lol
Dry clutch kits will be like hens teeth now. Clutch action is heavier than the wet. I preferred it to the wet slipper that was in before. It wasn't as loud as a dry clutch on a 1198 though. I'd go for a sigma or DP wet slipper.
I'm running that clutch now Matt it took a bit of getting used to but I like it now. Just a shame it's getting traded in with the bike now.
I run the dry slipper in my 848, it's a awesome clutch, slipper action is very very smooth, better IMO than the sigma I had before, I also run an Oberon slave, the sigma is an amazing clutch and a massive upgrade over stock, Snells were fitting a new dry kit to a customers bike this week so they are still available as far as I know, but they are around a grand! Dry slipper is easy to service, no contaminants in oil, sounds the balls, looks the balls and works VERY well!
