Discussion in '848 / 1098 / 1198' started by Roadtrip, Feb 16, 2014.

  1. As title, been looking at one in a dealers which was px for a new Jap bike last december, went and viewed it 3 weeks ago and had a chat.

    848, reg 2 owner's (i would be the third)
Termi end cans (would check about the ecu)
    Change of levers.
    Lightech rear sets
    Rear seat cover
All original parts come with the bike
    Full Ducati service history
    Just had a service (oil,filter)
    Bike is in mint condition
    Mileage is 6900

The belts need changing December this year, also 7500 mile shim check will be due next year.
I have made what i think is a good offer.

Any opinions please, this would be my first dip into the Ducati world.
Cheers Bradders forgot that 58 reg

  2. how old is it?

  3. What is it up for and how much did you offer?

  4. Its up for 7k and i offered 6k at first then the usual haggle then 6300, then thought thats its going home but left my number.

  5. seems bit steep to me, get an evo for similar money

  6. Dealer said he px it for 6k,
Its just all the crap they come out with and the fact they think your thick and an idiot and it will sell for 7k/6800 all day

  7. 6K part ex sounds a little high. I did a part ex on my 12 plate 848evo in August last year against a pani and got 6.5k for it, 8076 miles. Saw it being sold a month or so after for 7490, then looked again start of December and it was reduced down to 6890 I think (possibly even 6790, can't remember exactly). Sold soon after that.

  8. Ditto similar 60 plate with ohlins all round and loads of other stuff

reckon px 5k closer and still prob high

  9. Thanks for your help chaps, appreciated.

  10. if its 'right' whats a few miles?! Can always get train there ride back :upyeah:

  11. Its about 175 miles/3.5 hrs drive just too far from Essex but i like your way of thinking.

  12. I drove from Kent to Edinburgh to buy a bike. 7hrs round trip is easy.

As bradders says, if the bike is right..
