848 Recall notice

  1. Anyone else had an 848 recall notice 766 - battery support, heat shield and voltage regulator issue?

booked in the local dealer and he said it was the second one he'd had today but it's a 5 year old recall.

  2. yeah i got a letter in the week from ducati. Maybe they just forgot to imform us all. Think i will wait until the spring to get it sorted though!

  3. Any idea if there are specific bikes affected? Mines in for a service next week so it would be an ideal time to get it done if mines on the list. Its a 2013 Evo Corse.

  4. The original recall was 2008 so unlikely to be on anything past that year. They only send the letters to owners where they have not had confirmation that the work has been carried out.

  5. The recalls are VOSA generated and sent out every couple of years to originally effected bikes. The recall may have been done but the paperwork not completed or a breakdown in the 'system'. A fresh letter is generated and sent out. Most of the time the bike is ok, sometimes the recall is outstanding. Change of ownership causes most of the problems hence the 4 or 5 year time lapse.

  6. How can you check if your bike is affected and been sorted? Dealer?

  7. The Vosa recall notice on their site lists the frame numbers affected. The dealer would have to check if it's been done but look and see if it has a heat shield fitted to the reg. If it has it's been done.

  8. Took mine to the dealer yesterday, they just whipped the panel to check if the work had already been done, which in my case it had. Booked in prior so they could order the parts if needed (all for free).
