Hi Guys, does anyone know how many bolts hold on the stator cover on my 848 as i am removing mine and i have 11 bolts, i put on the special tool for removing the case and applied a bit of pressure and then lost my bottle in case i have missed a bolt, many thanks if you can help me.
Can't remember but I'll bet you you have probably missed the one that is in front of the sprocket usually covered in chain lube crud
Been there , done that ..... You were very wise to back away and ask for advice . That's exactly the one that I had missed .....
Yeah mine (1098)had been missed previously (the one bolt up by the front sprocket). Inventive use of double bond to mate the two parts back together! Order a used water pump/rotor cover off ebay.
