848 Trade In

Discussion in 'Panigale' started by RadiheadR6, Nov 25, 2013.

  1. Just to be curious, I asked my local Ducati dealer what they would give me trade in on my 3500 mile mint condition 848 for a 899 Panigale today - £6500... but they will fit some Termi's for free on the Pani...

Think I'll keep the 848 for the time being then!

  2. What age? My Ohlins'd up 60 plate Evo was only a grand more against a Multi without free cans...

  3. Its a 2011 848 Evo

  4. I've just got £8000 for my 10000 miles 08 plate 1098s against the 899, happy days.

  5. Isn't that a backward move ?

  6. Only to the uneducated

  8. I'm sorry with that gixer 750 swingarm wedged in it !
    i think they've just cheapened it ???

  9. Have you seen it yet? I thought the same until I viewed one and one of the reasons for it is that its lighter than a single sider.

  10. Yep Ducati w-ton just down the rd & saw them at Brands too ..... Just think it looks Cheap :( A step back from the 1098 imho.
I know it maybe lighter but when you put the Rider on it does it really make a difference ??? I know I know unsprung weight etc, but in the real world .... On the road not the track does a few grams matter ? I'd rather have looks ....

  11. Heavier than it's big brother though? How is that?

  12. Tank and subframe are made of steel not aluminium like the 1199 and I think the engine casings are aluminium instead of some magnesium alloy

  13. I got £7,000 for my 4 year old 848 with 10,000 miles on it px for a 1199s.
But that was March 2013 and the 899 was not about then, its just when a new model comes out the previous ones drop in value a lot unfortunately. Any 848 bikes bought in the last year are going to take a big hit on resale value from the price paid unfortunately.
