  1. So I've had my 1199 since July last year and I'm still as smitten with it as I was the day I picked her up.

It's a May 2012 bike so out of warranty and I firmly believe I will always do a better job servicing anything than a main dealer would.

I've read loads of info on the fact you can't get anything to turn the service warning off yourself and also read that tuneboy can do it and technoresearch have a kit for it!!

Can anyone clear up what is and isn't available ??
    Cheers

  2. Obviously there MUST be a way since the dealers do it every day ! Have a word with a dealer, preferably not your own, in case there is a simple sequence (key on and off three times with the kill switch off, etc) to achieve the desired result. Once you are out of Manufacturer's Warranty, most dealerships are hoping to keep you as a parts customer if not a workshop customer, so usually are most helpful. I remember that when I had my speedo changed under Warranty, apart from starting at zero again, the dear couldn't either program my old mileage (pretty low, though past the first service) or stop the ecu behaving as if I must both run in the engine and get an oil change. Apparently that aspect of switching off the 'service due' light was impossible to bypass ! May I add a note of causion before you embark on using outsiders to circumvent the bike's programming..... often they are using various tactics to 'fool' the ecu but it's internals are still tracking the truth and might end up reacting to that truth by going into 'limp-home' mode later in the bike's life. When Ducati spent absolutely millions of Euros designing the software, do you honestly think a bloke with a lap-top is going to know better than them ?!
