899 Pinagale Carbon Cover Bolts

Discussion in 'Newbies Hangout' started by Jason Chauhan, Sep 16, 2018.

  1. Hey guys, new to this forum just sold my Triumph street triple for a sexy 899 Panigale.. great move I love the bike..

I have ducati 899 with a carbon exhaust cover and carbon chain guard. The bolts are too long/big as they are from the original fitting. So the covers rattle, do they need to be specific I wondered if anyone has any suggestions!!!

    Thanks

  2. Welcome and enjoy. Not owning a Pani I can't help, but I am sure one of the helpful residents will be along shortly with some advice.

  3. Either get small plastic washer(s) or the same but smaller bolts from the dealer...

    PS.. Whats a Pinagale?

  8. I would be tempted to go for fibre washers rather than plastic for the exhaust ones due to the heat exposure... I'm assuming the carbon covers you have aren't the DP ones as I believe the DP kit comes with bolts and new washers...

Plastic washers should be fine for your chain guard though :upyeah:

  10. You Dave

  11. Get some fibre washers to take up the slack. Ducati sell them but they probably cost more than you paid for the bike! :)
‘Dave’ is a reference to Only Fools And Horses. My name is Dave anyway so it didn’t work very well on me...

  14. Hello and welcome to the forum. :)

  15. I do not believe they are DP ones, as you say they should have come with the bike but the bike came with both original and the carbon ones, I agree for the fiber ones to deal with the heat. thanks for the feedback..I will investigate
