Anyone changed there sprockets on a 899? Are there any better size sprockets to have or are 15/44 best set up.
I've got a 46t but tried to fit it and the standard chain isn't long enough to do it, so if you want more punch try a 14t front. I'm planning to get a new chain over Christmas and fit the bigger rear Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I've just put on a set of Renthal sprockets and a HID 520 chain. Much lighter than the standard setup. Stuck with standard sizes.
Yeah I want to put some harden alloy ones on but not sure what sizes to go with. 1 tooth drop I. Front sprocket sounds good.
I went with some renthal's. 14 on front 45 on the back. Lost a bit of speed top end but so much more punch. Much prefer it to standard set up.
Talon on our race bikes, look nice and do the job. I'd imagine the standard 15/44 is fine for the road, that's why it's on there I suppose. That said if I had one for primarily road riding I'd probably go up one tooth on the rear to sharpen it up on more spirited runs. No issues with needing a longer chain either. Not sure how much it changes speedo readings either.
lol, busted! Yeah I was there. I'll be there again with both bikes this year, plus we will have a shop with merchandise in the main field. Assuming I don't smash the 899 to bits at Cadwell this weekend
Extra tooth on the rear only loses 4mph at the top end, and does give it a little extra go. Doesn't affect speedo because that is a wheel speed sensor.
