Im on the lookout for a set of carbs for my 900 ss 1992-98 range. Must be in reasonable condition with nothing seized. I saw an add on here ages ago, someone selling brand new ones? Any idea where that was? Cheers folk.
they are about:- https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/DUCATI-M...TORE-Carburettor-MIKUNI-BDST-38-/291180151907 last pair I got were from Italy for around £300 posted around 3 years ago but source may have dried up. Buying secondhand with guarantee of nothing wrong is going to be a hard one if not impossible.
Ahh ok thanks for the info. Back to my first thought, if anyone happens to have a used set they're willing to part with....
source has dried up Chris, I asked them a couple of months ago and they replied “we don’t got it no more”.
ive a set somewhere! i bought em offa here a year or 2 back... i just buy stuff like that with the thought of having spares but id be happy to let them go for what i paid... i just have to find what i paid and the carbs.. i cant even remember who i bought em off and if anything was wrong with em. i know this is a bit odd but give me a day or 2 too track em down (i have no access to my workshop at the min) and to find the thread and or pm to see if i can give some more info..
Good bloke chizel I was going to offer similar but in reality it would be a huge effort for me at the mo.
I'm still on the lookout for a set of carbs if anyone has some stashed away.... Previous set turned out to be for spares, cheers for looking tho....
turns out you may have to make the effort!!! my mind is failing bad and the ones i got were actually free from @Nasher and only good for spare parts.... i knew i had some but couldnt for the life of me remember in what condition they were... is this how it gets as you get older?
yes it does mate, sorry to say - hopefully we are still a decade away from crosswords and jigsaw puzzles though. I will try and have a look next time i'm there. I think i have around 5 or 6 pairs mostly dismantled but need carefully checking if for someone else. EDIT @Pauldonjuan you might have done already - worth putting a similar post up on UKMOC site - they are a friendly bunch and exchange parts like this far more than on this site.
as long as we can still swing a leg over (a bike not each other!1) we are ok... remembering where i parked the bike does seem to be becoming a problem mind....
agree, have lost my parked car a few times over the years looking back - writing was on the wall even then.
fell in love with a bird in fulham after a few at a few pubs... i spent a few days and nights at hers immediately after and forgot about my van....when i eventually had to go home it took probably 3 hours to find the van as i couldnt remember where i parked and didnt know the lay of the land at all... 180 quids worth of fines on it ... i was lucky it wasnt clamped tbh...
I've got another set in better condition, but will need to check the air screws etc are not siezed. Unfortunately I'm not home until the weekend, but will check then. Nasher.
