I can’t say what information you found, whether it was accurate or otherwise, or what it confirmed or disproved to you, but IME your assumption was incorrect, and the codes you refer to relate only to the silencer part of the assembly, not the link pipe, despite the link pipe, low or high, being welded to the silencer entry cap. So, the codes you refer to can appear on high or low pipes for an 851/888 or 900SS.
Thanks Jon Yes did a bit more searching and found the same high or low, just need to be on the look out for a pair of hangers.
