900ss frame "dents" help.

  1. Hi guys I'm new here and need a bit of advice please.
Went to look at a nice low mileage 900ss yesterday (7000km)! it looks very nice BUT I noticed the lock stop has been damaged and there are two small indentations in the top frame rails just where the forks meet them on full lock.
The lock stop is an easy weld up job but are those indentations ment to be there or are they from a massive tank slapper / crash?
Also I have just read the thread about cracking frames on these bikes is this something to look out for on this one?
    Thanks for any advice.
    Rob

  2. Shouldn't be any dents in either the upper or lower frames tubes on either side. Looks like it's had a knock. That'd be one helluva a tank slapper to damage those.

  3. Thanks Nelly, I thought it was wrong but you know what it's like when you go to see a new bike! You try to ignore the obvious signs of abuse then blow all your lolly on a heap!

  4. +1 to what nelly says, its had a whack........

  5. don't touch it with a barge pole
