Can anyone recommend someone who can remap a stock 1999 900SS IE ECU to play nicely with some Ducati Performance (Remus) carbon race cans? Not looking for more BHP just smooth runnings. I'm based in the south so Hampshire or Surrey etc. would be ideal. Thanking you kindly, please stay safe and well in these cluster-fuck times
Get in touch with @nelly at Cornerspeed - he can do it by post, I don't know if he's still open though.
Not entirely sure but Moto Rapido in Winchester certainly offer remapping. IME that has tended to be on bikes like the 848/1098/1198 and Panigales. Might be worth dropping them an email, [email protected]. Andy
Try this ? I did the same when I had mine as well as open up the air box https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Ducati-P...071115&hash=item44546cd88a:g:cYMAAOSwTZ9eRTnq
I am closed down in the current climate, but yes, I can flash the ecu on a mail order basis. The fuelling would need setting up to get the best out of any work done on the 900SSie, but I have a couple of suitable maps for the open pipes. PM me if you ant to know more.
I would be happy to be wrong on this but when I checked with Nelly and MR (amongst others) a couple of years ago, neither could still work with the old tech Marelli 1.5 ECU. If you want a remap, some Guzzi and Harley specialists can still work with them as their bikes used this gen tech until more recently. Alternatively you can get some level of adjustment from a PC3. I guess you tried the bike with the mods and aren’t happy with the way it runs? I ask because my SSie ran smoothly through the rev range with these mods without any ECU changes. on the dyno it showed it went quite lean at full chat, but elsewhere nothing too drastic. Edit - I stand happily corrected, as above! Jon
You’re right Jon, in part. I used to use the FIM software to edit the 1.5 ecus, but when that ceased support, then so did the ability to access them. I now use Rexxer and they support and have maps written for the 1.5 so I’m now able to write them again.
Thanks people and @nelly I'll look into the options and report back. Guess I don't really have the option of removing the ECU right now as I wouldn't want to start taking bits off the bike and it's not easily accessible. Moto Rapido in Winchester are down the road from me so might hit them up once the craziness has calmed down. The bike has been in storage for years (with regular run-ups to temp) so will need a full service, belts etc. Just 2000 miles on the clock.
Had I been a little more alert, I should have realised that your 900SS ie would be the earlier EPROM ecu. I know Wilf no longer has the FIM kit. Best talk to Nellie. Andy
