Just read a post from a Kawasaki 1000SX rider asking if cracking in the bottom of the tread block (that’s left) on the original fitment Bridgestone Hypersport is normal after 9045 miles. I have resisted responding with a WTF ? Andy
9k on a front? Holy shit. 3k and im buying a new set. Cracking tyre and hes asking if this is normal? I'd be putting new tyres on lol. Not asking questions.
The 2010> Z1000 and SX were the only bikes I’ve owned that I’d wear out the edges of the front tyres before the centres? And certainly under 9k miles!
I always without fail replace mine at 15k, 9k seems low I’d complain to either the bike or tyre manufacturer .
I used to work with a bloke who had a BSA 650 Super Rocket when he was an apprentice (way back in the 60's) he couldn't afford to buy tyres for it, so when the rear tyre wore through to the white canvas!!! he just kept riding it, after a while, the canvas wore away and the tyre went black again (although it was really dodgy in the wet!!!) eventually the (2nd) white canvas returned he HAD to buy a new tyre, but he was safe in the knowledge that he'd got 2 canvases to get through before he had to buy another!!!??
