916 Engine Oil Filter

  1. Hi all, I just got a 2003 St4. It needs a bit of TLC but is basically sound.

    I stripped all the bodywork off tonight and drained the oil and removed the filter. I also removed the strainer on the side and noticed that there was no mesh filter in there ? is there supposed to be ? if so are they readily available ?

  2. Have you checked in the hole? They have been known to separate from the bolt head.

  3. Oil screen I think you mean. About £20 from a dealer.

  4. Sorry guys my bad.... i just realised I need to unscrew it with the 14mm allen key, I was expecting it to be behind the cover cap :-(

    As they say RTFM !
