916 - Gear Select Pedal Adjustment

Discussion in 'Technical Help' started by Unrapid, Aug 5, 2024.

  1. Hi all,

    Sorry for what might seem a rather boring question, but it would help me out no end;

    - Is the rear brake pedal on a 916 adjustable (it's currently a tad too high leading to a few botched up shifts). If it is adjustable how do I go about doing this?

    I've checked my Haynes manual and there is nothing in there I can find to help.

    Many thanks,

    D

  2. Yep - the distance between the lever and the footrest is too high, meaning I need to lift my foot slightly to hook upwards. Downshifts are not as awkward, though I still need to light my foot.

  3. Do you mean gear, rather than brake pedal?

  4. There's a rear brake!?

  5. I just rotated the front lever on the spline last week with one position, i've not tested it yet since.

  6. there is only one correct set-up for, let's say for clarification, the two external levers and tie-rod. If you deviate from this, you will get a slightly better up change/slightly worse down change, or vice-versa.

    it's simple physics at work here. :upyeah:

  9. Again like the OP i'd some poor gear changes so this might help matters, the last thing on my mind at the minute's guillotine work on the toes.

  10. ..you didn't read my posts did you.. apart from your linkages being in the wrong place to start with, there is nothing you can do apart from get a bespoke gearlever with a different offset for the footpad positioning.

  13. ..I think what's in your mind might be a factor here. :upyeah:

  14. Maybe in my case a bent or dislodged select lever inside the cases could be the problem, or perhaps double up on earplugs when riding a Ducati with all those strange noises. O&O
