Spent so much time watching these restorations. If I won big on the lottery I think this is what I’d do full time. I can imagine it being so satisfying.
He's done a few ducati bikes, also a number of other bikes, he's currently restoring a Honda VFR400 NC30
Those NC30's are great designs, but unless you're a Japanese teenager they are tiny machines. Rode one round the block once and felt like a gorilla on a mini-bike.
Got a bit of a resto going on with my 996 SPS. After a full dismantle the crankcases, exhausts and carbon parts are off for a refresh. New coolant hoses, chain, filters and fluids. Engine internals are in great shape, but crank will be polished, all bearings replaced and new bolts. Glad to say I am not on the tools, so there’s a good chance she will work properly without a tray of small parts that I could not find a home for
Think you get two uses out of them as the bolts are pretty stretched. You want to see the cost of RS bolts...
That carbon transformation looks good, I really need to get my finger out this year on the S4 and 996, lots of carbon to re-finish.......
