Will 916 single injector throttle bodies fit on a 996 biposto with no issues? Would I need the 916 injector loom too? I want to do the single injector mod and chip to cure the dreaded 3500rpm judder.
Would imagine that they would fit OK, but disconnecting the 2nd injector on the 996 would do exactly the same thing I would think. Both options would need remapping though.
The single injector chip that I have runs the bike on 1 injector per cylinder and take a away the splutter. The splutter is caused by 2 injectors per throttle body dumping fuel in at low revs. It's a common mod and fix on 996 bikes.
Don’t think anyone sells the chip anymore though. I’ve been quoted £400 ish to get mine mapped on a dyno. Ouch!
I would contact JHP regarding a chip, John has a library of different chip and he can burn one to suit, he had one for my 748/853 and it runs perfectly . Steve
The FIM eprom was the original option for doing this. Just disconnect one injector on each TB. That’s all you need to do. The inner most were the ones to pull iirc. Using a 916 open pipe eprom was a good starting point, there was a eprom called the “Senna” which if I remember was for a 916 on 50mm open system that worked more or less out the packet.
My 996 has this mod, performed by Pro-twins years before I bought the bike. Anyway, as said above my bike just has one of the injectors unplugged from the loom and the cable tied up neatly, no need for different throttle bodies.
