  1. all,

In my search for a 916, I have come across a 916SP in Italy through a friend of a friend. The bike has done just over 4000 klm and is an early bike so I beleive a 916SP1.

What sort of figure are these actually changing hands for these days? A friend sold one for £6k a few years back, this is closer to £12k now.

  2. I think people missed your post, they usually love talking value.
£8 to £12k dependent on a lot of differing factors isn't opening stab...
Shady Italian history will go against it. MY 1994 would be good.

  3. Yes it's a 94, has all original documents and bill of sale etc..

  4. Any more detail shots, I'm not an expert on these but some on here will tell a lot from hi res pictures. I see it's been for sale since May so not a bargain then otherwise it would have sold.
Probably no way of checking the mileage and history - never seen the SP sticker on the tail unit before, seems odd someone would stick it on. Not sure if they came with a sticker kit either but it's got a lot on there :)

  5. How do you know it's been for sale since May?

Yeh the stickers are a wierd one aren't they, not so sure why they will have been stuck on but they could have been stuck on years ago.. Depends on what he is willing to do on the price. I think as it stands it's too much given the risks of having to bring it in from overseas. All of my current bikes have been brought in from overseas so that really doesn't worry me, but risk versus reward etc..

  6. only have these extra pics I'm afraid..

  7. You would need to ask them for high res pics to see the details.

  8. If I took it any further I definitely would be asking for better pics :)

  9. It shouldn't have a white number board on front fairing - should be red with a Ducati logo over right light. 'V' panel in my experience should be carbon, airbox can be carbon ok but was hit and miss whether u got a carbon airbag or normal red one. Thats an aftermarket clutch cover - SP one was Carbon with 'Ducati' moulded on it. Wheels are same as mine, Cagiva logo on filler cap, exhaust is right, it certainly looks like an SP, take stickers off and get a couple of bits and it'll be good n tidy! I wouldn't sell mine for £12k and it has a lot more miles on it!

  10. Where's red when you need him

  11. Bonhams are auctioning 2 nice dukes in a few days
